Native Principalities of Haryana after the Revolt of 1857

Loharu Principality

  • In the year 1935, there was a strong protest against the misrule of Aminuddin Ahmad, ruler of Loharu Princely State.
  • On 8th August, 1935, Nawab Aminuddin opened fire on a peaceful demonstration in a village called Simhani, killing many people.
  • After this incident his misrule was challenged by establishing a Praja Mandal in the Princely State. Subedar Dilsukh, Chaudhary Mohar Singh, Pandit Satyavrat, Chaudhary.
  • Chandgiram, Thakur Bhagwant Singh and Shri Nathuram were involved in this protest. Continued Protests led to a compromise between the Nawab and the agitators. After independence, Loharu Princely State was merged in Hisar district in the year 1947.
  • Jind Principality

  • Sarup Singh, the ruler of Jind principality, died in 1864. He was succeeded by Raghuvir Singh.
